
The tide was incredibly low (0.0) so there was lots to see at the beach. Especially lots of star fish. We don't often see orange star fish but I saw a few this time.

These are sand dollars. The light one is empty but the black ones are still alive. If you look closely at the black ones bottom you can see its tiny hairs on the bottom move.

This is a funny hermit crab. He has grown too big for his borrowed shell so he is having a very hard time hiding on me :)

This is an empty moon snail shell. Well it's not empty right now because it has a baby star fish inside!

Moon snails make very unusual nests for their eggs in my opinion. They make a nest of sand and slim in the shape of a toilet plunger. The fist time I ever saw one Jeremy had brought it home from the beach and I gave him such a lecture on bringing home other peoples garbage. Imagine bringing home a toilet plunger!! Ahhh hee!

Hahahaha, I love that story of the "toilet plunger", you were so mad at Jeremy! Such a dirty thing.... I was fooled too til Jer had me take a closer look, and you can see it is thin and all sand :D
